In Canada, everyone has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Just because the police charged you, does not mean that you are ‘guilty’. You have the right to due process, the right to a fair trial, and the right to be represented by a lawyer who will fight for these rights among many other things.
Kim & Lake Law is experienced in representing those individuals who find themselves charged with criminal offences under the Criminal Code.
If you have been charged under the Criminal Code, or the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act, you should take no further action, make no statement to anyone, and contact us immediately for legal advice. From that point on, you should allow us to review your matter, review the Crown Disclosure (complete record of all of the information the Crown Prosecution office has against you) and lead you toward a resolution of the charges.
Kim & Lake Law’s practice extends to defending clients charged with regulatory offences, such as offences under the Motor Vehicle Act, including speeding and “stunting” charges, etc.
